How The Contest Works
Each registered player begins the contest with an imaginary bankroll of zero Keeneland Challenge Dollars.
Each race day, the contest begins on race seven.
Registered players can logon on to the contest, and from the official entries provided by Equibase, select the horse they think will win. If there are nine races that day, then you will have three different selections-one predicted winner for each race. If there are ten races that day, then you will have four different selections.
The contest will then log your selections and at the end of each race day, will compare them with the official order of finish as reported by the Equibase chart located at www.equibase.com.
If your selection wins or places the race, Keeneland Challenge Dollars equivalent to a $2 wager payoff will be credited to your imaginary bankroll. If your horse wins, your imaginary bankroll will receive the win payoff only, not win and place. If your horse places, your imaginary bankroll will receive the payoff for place.
Daily prizes will be awarded to the handicapper who accumulates the most Keeneland Challenge Dollars in his or her imaginary bankroll on that day. The overall contest winner will be the handicapper with the most Keeneland Challenge Dollars in his or her imaginary bankroll at the end of the 2009 Fall race meeting.

OFFICIAL GAME RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR KEENELAND HANDICAPPING CHALLENGE
I. Description of Handicapping Challenge
Keeneland Association, Inc. ("Keeneland") is offering visitors to its website the chance to win prizes by selecting a horse beginning in race seven each race day during Keeneland's live races in the 2009 fall race meeting. (These races will be referred to in these Rules and Regulations as the "live races"). Starting with an imaginary bankroll of zero Challenge Dollars, each player will have the chance to select one horse he or she expects to win or place beginning with the seventh race each race day in the upcoming live races in the Keeneland 2009 fall meeting. Players' imaginary bankrolls will not be debited for the selection of horses. If the horse selected by the player finishes first or second in the race, according to the final results as determined by the track stewards, the player's imaginary bankroll will be awarded Challenge Dollars equivalent to the payoff of a two-dollar wager as determined by the official Equibase chart (which may be accessed at www.equibase.com), with the following modifications. First, payoffs of Challenge Dollars awarded to the player's bankroll will be capped at 30-1 odds for first place (or a $62 maximum payoff for that race). If your horse wins, your imaginary bankroll will receive the win payoff only, not win and place. If your horse places, your imaginary bankroll will receive the payoff for place. Second, the Darley Alcibiades (October 9), the Shadwell Turf Mile (October 10), the Juddmonte Spinster (October 11), the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (October 17), the Lexus Raven Run (October 24) and the Fayette Stakes (October 31) all are worth double Keeneland Challenge Dollars. Payoffs in these races will be subject to the same payoff caps outlined above, and then will be doubled for those designated races.
After the last live race of each day, the player who has accumulated the most Challenge Dollars in his or her imaginary bankroll for live races beginning with race seven held on that day will be declared the daily winner and will win a bonus prize selected by the contest coordinator from the Keeneland Gift Shop. It will be shipped within 30 days of the close of the contest. Prizes from the Keeneland Gift Shop may not be exchanged or returned for cash. In the event of a tie, bonus prizes will be awarded to each of the daily winners, up to five winners per day. If there are more than five daily winners for any given day, Keeneland will randomly select five of the daily winners to receive bonus prizes.
At the conclusion of the Handicapping Challenge on Saturday, October 31, after the last live race, the player with the most Challenge Dollars in his or her imaginary bankroll will be declared the winner and will win his/her choice of a Grand Prize-(1)-a day at the races during the Spring 2010 race meeting (table for four in the Bluegrass or Equestrian Room; plus food and beverage-excluding alcohol, a gift bag, and a behind-the-scenes tour; any race day EXCEPT Saturday) or (2)-merchandise selected by the contest administrator from Keeneland Gift Shop. The Grand Prize winner also will win an online subscription to a selected Equibase or Trackmaster Product. Players who place second through tenth will win a gift selected by the contest coordinator from the Keeneland Gift Shop. Winners will be notified within three weeks of the contest close about collecting their prize.
In the event of a tie based on total or daily bankroll, a tiebreaker will be implemented in the following order:
total win prices paid
number of winners
highest win payoff
random drawing
During and for a period of time after the Handicapping Challenge, Keeneland will maintain on the Handicapping Challenge Web Site an ongoing list of the bankrolls held by the top players and for each race, the horses entered, horses scratched, and the results and payoffs announced by the racetrack for $2.00 win bets.
II. How to enter and play
1. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or play. In order to enter, each player must register by (1) completing the mandatory fields on the Handicapping Challenge Registration Form accessed through the Handicapping Challenge Web Site at www.keeneland.com, and electronically submitting the form by clicking on the button provided on the form; and (2) replying to the e-mail that will be sent by Keeneland to each registrant confirming the information submitted by the registrant, by clicking on a link contained in the confirming e-mail. The optional fields on the Registration Form may also be completed at the discretion of the player, but completion of the optional fields is not necessary to enter. No telephoned, faxed, e-mailed or otherwise delivered or transmitted Registration Forms will be valid. On the Registration Form, the player will be required to certify, by clicking as instructed, that the player is at least 18 years of age and is eligible to play the Handicapping Challenge under these Rules and Regulations. The player must select a unique password, and will be assigned a unique player identification number. The player will use this password and identification number to select horses and access the player's selection history and current point total. A mechanism will be provided on the Handicapping Challenge Web Site to assist players who have forgotten their passwords. It is the sole responsibility of the player to notify Keeneland of any changes in the mandatory information supplied on the Registration Form in the manner described in the Registration Form. Any failure to do so may in Keeneland's sole discretion result in the disqualification of the player.
2. Prior to each race in the contest (the contest begins with seventh race each day), Keeneland will post the names of the horses entered and the name of the race on the Handicapping Challenge Web Site in the selection portion of the contest. Each player will enter the player's unique identification number and password, and must select one horse's name from the drop-down list. Each selection is final, and cannot be changed after the player clicks "Enter" on the screen after selecting a horse. While players need not select a horse in each race of the Handicapping Challenge to play, the winners of the Handicapping Challenge will be selected on the total number of Challenge Dollars in the players' bankrolls. Players must select a horse no later than 4:00 PM ET the day of each race. Please note that the registration process described in Paragraph 1 above may take a few minutes to complete, so please allow enough time to complete the registration process prior to 4:00 PM ET the first day of participation in the Handicapping Challenge. All selections are final. In the event that a horse is scratched prior to the start of the race, Keeneland will automatically assign the player the horse or multiple horse entry that is the post-time favorite as found on the official Equibase chart for that race, found at www.equibase.com. In the event that more than one horse or multiple horse entry is the post-time favorite, Keeneland will assign all of the favorites to the player.
